Cirrus syncs through your own iCloud account. If a note isn’t showing up on your other device:

• Check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account.
• Check that your iCloud storage isn’t full.
• Open Settings in Cirrus. Sync & Data on the Mac, or iCloud Sync on the iPhone, shows whether sync is on and when it last ran.
• Give it a minute after a device comes back online.

If a different Apple Account signs in, Cirrus pauses sync rather than mixing two accounts’ notes. If you sign out of iCloud, your notes stay on the device.

Cirrus for Mac and Cirrus for iPhone are separate purchases. Cirrus Pro unlocks unlimited notes on the Mac. The iPhone app is a one-time purchase with no note limit, and neither unlocks the other. Your notes sync between them either way.

Without Pro, a Mac still opens, edits, and exports every note. It just can’t start a new one past three.

From the Mac App Store: open Settings, then Cirrus Pro, and click Restore.

From this site: your license key is in the receipt email from Polar. One key works on up to three Macs. To move it to a new Mac, deactivate the old one in Settings, then Cirrus Pro.

Refunds on direct purchases are open for 14 days: just email me. App Store purchases, on the Mac or the iPhone, are refunded by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. The terms have the details.

Deleted notes go to Recently Deleted for 30 days, or 7 or 90 if you change it in Settings. Restore them from there.

Export writes every note as a Markdown file, and Import reads them back. Both are in Settings: Sync & Data on the Mac, Your Notes on the iPhone.

The Mac also keeps a copy of your notes from each of the last seven days. Sync & Data has a button that shows them in Finder.

Cirrus needs macOS 26 or later on the Mac, and iOS 26 or later on the iPhone.
